Learning Styles

The term “Learning Styles” derives that each one of us learns differently. Technically, an individual’s learning style refers to the preferential way in which they absorb, process and retains information
Additionally, people also prefer different kinds of learning styles and techniques pertaining to their comfort. There are no limits nor any fixed approach towards learning or adapting the ever changing world. The only thing which is constant is “Change”.
In general, there are three types of learning styles :
1.      Visual
2.      Auditory
3.      Kinesthetic
Visual learners prefer the use of images, maps and graphical representations to understand new information.
Auditory Learner understand the new information by listening and speaking in the varied situations i.e. seminars, group discussion.
Kinesthetic Learners are the most active learners as they tactically understand the new information by figuring the things out by themselves.
For example, a fresher joining an organization, has to learn how to adapt and learn the company policy. Being Visual learner, he will follow the company policy book or employee handbook to learn the company policies.
An Auditory learner will learn about the company policies by discussing with the co-workers or attending the Induction program.
Whereas, kinesthetic learner will understand the policies by reading the employee behavior and culture followed.
Understanding what kind of learner you are to select the apt method of learning the new environment.
