Thinking is basically defined as talking to ourselves.
Thinking is really an incredible activity that our body works on. In fact
science says that our thinking process never stops even when we are asleep.
There are many different thoughts which rolls around in our mind even after we
asleep.
There are mainly two types of thinking, critical thinking and creative thinking.
Creative thinking simply means to come up with something new. Mostly creative people are related to arts like writing a novel, painting a picture or composing music. Infact not all the creative thinkers are artists. Today, in current corporate world creative thinkers are more in demand because many jobs demand creativity accordingly.
Creative thinking is an invaluable skill. It’s important because it helps you look at problems and situations from a fresh perspective. Creating thinking is a way to develop novel or unorthodox solutions that do not depend wholly on past or current solutions. It’s a way of employing strategies to clear your mind so that your thoughts and ideas can transcend what appear to be the limitations of a problem. Creative thinking is a way of moving beyond barriers.
As a creative thinker, you are curious, optimistic, and imaginative. You see problems as interesting opportunities, and you challenge assumptions and suspend judgment. You don’t give up easily. You work hard.
Critical thinking means making reasoned judgments that are logical and well-thought out. It is a way of thinking in which you don't simply accept all arguments and conclusions you are exposed to but rather have an attitude involving questioning such arguments and conclusions.
Many people decide to make changes in their daily lives based on anecdotes, or stories from one person's experience. For example, let's say that your aunt told you that she takes a vitamin C supplement every day. Additionally, she told you that one morning she was running late for work and forgot to take her vitamin C supplement. That afternoon, she developed a cold. She now insists that you take vitamin C every day or you will get sick, just like she did in her story. Many people hearing this story would just accept this and think, 'To avoid getting sick I should take vitamin C.'
Although this type of logic is very common, it lacks critical-thinking skills. If we examine this anecdote a little more carefully, you should be able to understand why. For starters, we don't know where the idea for vitamin C stopping illness even came from. Why did your aunt decide to take vitamin C rather than vitamin D, or any other vitamin?
Also, there was never any indication given that there exists a direct link between not taking vitamin C and developing a cold. At first glance, it may seem that way. However, there could be many other variables involved that have nothing to do with vitamin C. Maybe she was already developing a cold and that particular day it just happened to manifest itself. Maybe a sick person sneezed on her in the elevator that morning. Any number of possibilities could have happened, and from just this story, we simply do not have enough information. All of this speculation as to the validity of this particular observation is considered skepticism.
Thinking skills are important because they are useful to understand the logical connections between ideas, identify construct and evaluate the arguments and much more. Thinking is also very important because it influences actions. In other words our success of life is depended on our thinking process.
Everybody has both positive and negative thoughts floating in mind. They just seem to be coming in mind from nowhere. These thoughts do not have any good or bad impact on our destiny. Its all upon us, how we treat that thought. How much we give importance to that thought, as much as we will give importance to the thought it will impact our life in real and will come true at certain stage of life.
